Barbara Ann Broughton, age 71, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, following a long and courageous battle with dementia.

Barbara was born Barbara Ann Wilson on August 14, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Allen Dale Wilson and Luella Claudine Wilson. As the daughter of a military serviceman, she spent her childhood living in various locations across the United States before her family eventually settled in Wichita, Kansas.

The couple married five months later on December 15, 1973, and shared more than 52 years of love, partnership, and adventure. Together, they raised their family, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and built a life filled with cherished memories and lasting devotion.

She also retired after 20 years from Walmart, where she served as a Customer Support Manager. Throughout her career, Barbara was known for her strong work ethic, commitment, and compassion.
As a breast cancer survivor, Barbara faced life's challenges with remarkable courage and determination. After overcoming cancer, she devoted her time to helping others by volunteering with Children's Miracle Network and participating in a ten-year clinical study aimed at advancing breast cancer research and treatment for future generations.

Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Al Broughton; her sons, Kenneth Broughton and Michael Broughton; her daughters-in-law, Tracy Wilson and Luanne Broughton; her six grandchildren, Olivia Paulik, Jeremy Broughton, Haley Lynchard, Ashlee Lynchard, Jaxon Broughton, and Kodi Broughton; her great-granddaughter, Zula Paulik; her brother, Allen Wilson Jr.; and her sisters, Annita Olive and Yvonne Redington.
