Albertsons Issues Massive Recall of 59 Products Over Salmonella Risk
Albertsons has recalled 59 store-made items available for purchase in New Mexico stores due to the risk of salmonella contamination, marking a significant food safety concern for the region.
The Source of the Problem
The voluntary recall was initiated after a supplier called Ron’s Home Style Foods recalled products, with the affected items containing pico de gallo made with jalapeños that were recalled in association with an ongoing FDA investigation involving Coast Citrus Distributors. The recall has ties to a major outbreak involving jalapeños available at Chipotle.
What’s Being Recalled
The recalled products span a wide range of prepared foods sold at store delis and prepared meals sections. The items were available for purchase at Albertsons Market, Market Street, Amigos and United stores in New Mexico and Texas.
Among the recalled products are smoked brisket nachos, pizzas, quesadillas, enchiladas, breakfast items, catering platters, and fresh guacamole. All products have specific sell-through dates ranging from mid-July through mid-August 2026.

What Customers Should Do
If you purchased any of these items, the company is urging you not to consume them. Instead, you should throw it away or return it for a full refund.
For questions about the recall, Albertsons has established a customer service center. Albertsons has a customer service center open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. MT, for any questions.
