as previously stated; barela enjoys the power that comes as the state party chair, but that power does not provide her with income.  her need to hold the county commissioner seat is economic in nature.  she is caught between a rock and a hard place - and she has put the state party in exactly the same position.

if you will recall, in september 2025, 2nd Life published an article highlighting barela's endorsement of candidates for municipal offices last november.  it included endorsements for 5 individuals running for seats on the TWSD - those endorsements were made in her capacity as state republic
