may i suggest a simpler solution that would achieve much the same result....let all the MAGA enthusiasts, and others who oppose democracy move to west texass.  if they start now, they might get there in time to see james talarico - a democrat - be elected junior senator!

Another failed attempt was the Upper Peninsula of Michigan separating to become the 51st "State of Superior", logical yes, but it fell flat on its face.
