Tularosa High School Fire Remote Learning Till Monday 1-29-2024

Tularosa High School experienced a small fire in a classroom area that is reportedly used for shop and woodworking classes. The fire damage was minimal and contained per reports. The Mayor of Tularosa in an interview with Anthony Lucero of KRAZY KALH Radio reported that it was quickly contained and the water cleanup is in progress. The volunteer firefighters were quick to respond and professional. The fire chief and investigators are working to scene to determine the cause.

A statement from the Superintendent of Schools posted on social media said, ”I would like to send a special thank you to the amazing Tularosa Volunteer Fire Department for responding so quickly and professionally to last nights incident at the High School.

The High School is on remote learning and will return to normal operations on Monday. 

The system released the following statement today…

”Tularosa High School will be on remote learning until Monday, January 29, 2024. All high school students will be required to access their Google Classroom for attendance and school work. Students working on credit recovery have access to their Edgenuity program at learn.edgenuity.com. Any student who participates in extracurricular activities are required to attend remote learning sessions to remain eligible to participate in NMAA activities during this time. If students need access to anything left in the building, you can contact Ms. Hill at 575-585-8868 or jody.hill@tularosak12.us. Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle School students will have in person instruction as normal.”
