Alamogordo, NM – April 3, 2026 – Local high school teams were in action Thursday with mixed results on the diamond.
Baseball
Centennial defeats Alamogordo 4-1 (Game 1)
The Centennial Hawks handed the Alamogordo Tigers a 4-1 loss in Game 1 of their district matchup. The Tigers dropped to 6-7 overall and 0-2 in district play.
Softball
But Alamogordo split the doubleheader with Centennial
The Alamogordo Lady Tigers split their doubleheader against Centennial, falling 10-0 in Game 1 before rallying for a 10-9 victory in Game 2. The Lady Tigers improved to 12-2 overall and 1-2 in district. Alamogordo is back in action Tuesday at Organ Mountain.
Dexter defeats Tularosa 11-5
The Tularosa Lady Cats fell to Dexter 11-5. Tularosa dropped to 5-6 on the season. The Lady Cats will look to bounce back when they host Robertson this Saturday in a doubleheader scheduled for 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Laguna Acoma sweeps Mescalero Apache
The Laguna Acoma team swept the Mescalero Apache Lady Chiefs in a doubleheader, winning Game 1 by a score of 20-5 and Game 2 16-1. The Lady Chiefs fell to 1-6 overall. Mescalero will host Ruidoso JV on Tuesday.
Local fans can expect more competitive district and non-conference action in the coming week as teams continue to battle for playoff positioning.
