The sun rose bright over the white sands on Friday morning, April 3rd, 2026, painting the desert sky in soft pastels. In Alamogordo, families were already buzzing with excitement for a weekend filled with Easter cheer, colorful eggs, and community gatherings.
At Xtreme Amplitude in the Granada Shopping Center (700 E 1st St, Suite 700), the day kicked off with the Kinder Easter Egg Hunt. From 9:00 to 11:00 AM, little ones ages 0–6 hopped, skipped, and giggled their way through an egg hunt divided by age groups starting at 10:00 AM. For just $15 per child, families enjoyed an open gym, bounce house, crafts, and drinks—all included. Parents stayed close, snapping photos of tiny hands clutching pastel eggs while laughter echoed through the space. It was the perfect low-key start to the holiday for the youngest celebrants.
As Friday fades into Saturday, April 4th, there is free family fun with the energy shifting to even bigger adventures. Out at Desert Trails Vendor Village (2113 & 2117 Eddy Drive, between The Loop and White Sands Blvd), the Easter Egg Hunt promised free family fun. Vendor Village opening at 10:00 AM, giving shoppers a chance to browse local goods under the warm New Mexico sun.

Then, at 2:00 PM, the main event begins—kids (and a few playful adults) raced across the grounds in search of hidden eggs. A friendly cactus mascot named Eddy, will be decked out in a cowboy hat, bunny ears, and red bandana, cheering everyone on with thumbs-up and big smiles. Leashed dogs are welcome, restrooms are on-site and food, and the festive atmosphere will make it a true community celebration.
Meanwhile, downtown at Washington Park, the City of Alamogordo is hosting Easter in the Park from 9:00 AM to noon. With free entry, this wholesome event brings families together for music, games, and classic Easter vibes. A cheerful bunny peeking from the corner of the banner, and local sponsors like 94 Key Country, ARK Hill, and others helping to make the morning magical. Kids will hunt eggs, pose for pictures, and soak in the spring air while parents relaxe on the grass, enjoying the live music and festive decorations

By Sunday, many families will gather for church services, backyard egg hunts, or quiet reflections—carrying the joy from the weekend’s events into their Easter celebrations. In Alamogordo, the desert blooms not just with wildflowers, but with the laughter of children, the warmth of neighbors, and the simple magic of a painted egg.
Whether your little ones bounced at Xtreme Amplitude, cheer for Eddy the cactus, or dance at Washington Park, this Easter weekend in 2026 reminds everyone that spring in the Tularosa Basin is best celebrated together. Happy Easter from 2nd Life Media and KALH Radio—here’s to more community moments that make Alamogordo feel like home!
