Alamogordo, NM – March 31, 2026 – The Alamogordo Police Department announced the arrest of two adult suspects and two juveniles following a quick response to reports of suspicious activity in the 1300 block of Greenwood on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Officers attempted to make contact with individuals acting suspiciously in the area. The suspects fled, prompting a search of the neighborhood. During the search, officers apprehended Lennexx Vaughns and Gavin Colmenero, along with two juveniles, who were found unlawfully entering vehicles prior to the officers’ arrival.

Vaughns and Colmenero were booked into the Otero County Detention Center on the following charges:

• 5 Counts of Auto Burglary

• 1 Count of Attempt to Commit Auto Burglary

• 2 Counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

• 2 Counts of Conspiracy

• 1 Count of Resisting, Evading or Obstructing an Officer

• 1 Count of Public Nuisance

The two juveniles were charged with:

• 5 Counts of Auto Burglary

• 1 Count of Conspiracy

• 1 Count of Resisting, Evading or Obstructing an Officer

• 1 Count of Public Nuisance

The juveniles were released to their respective parents or guardians.

This incident comes amid ongoing concerns about property crimes, including auto burglaries, in Alamogordo.
