Friday is Alamogordo High School Homecoming and Tiger Homecoming Parade

The Alamogordo High School Tigers are celebrating their homecoming week with a variety of activities. Thursday night the school hosted a well attended bonfire as they gear up for the fun homecoming parade Friday afternoon followed by the ballgame.

The pinnacle of the week arrives on Friday, September 1st as Alamogordo Tiger Football takes on Gadsden in the Homecoming football game at Tiger Stadium, with kick-off at 7 pm.

Before the game, the annual Homecoming parade will dazzle the streets, starting at 3 pm from AHS on Cuba Ave and proceeding down 10th St. to New York Ave. 

Let's line the streets! With this year's theme, "Diamonds are Forever," participants are encouraged to adorn themselves, floats, and vehicles in the diamond theme or black and gold, reflecting their Tiger Pride.

The week culminates with the Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 2nd in the AHS Commons from 8 pm to 11 pm.

Tickets are available at AHS for students for the evening of celebration and memories.

The Alamogordo High School Homecoming week is more than just a series of events it's an opportunity for the community to unite, support our students, and showcase the enduring Tiger Pride that has defined us for years.

-Homecoming parade Friday at 3 p.m.It will start at Cuba Street and travel down 10th Street. The parade will end at New York Avenue.

-Friday FREE Entrance for ALL - Alamogordo Tigers face Gadsden at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at the Tiger Stadium, located at 103 Cuba Avenue.

-Saturday, Sept. 2: AHS Homecoming Dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets the homecoming dance are $20 for students attending solo and $35 for couples.

The dress code is semi-formal and the dance will be held inside the Alamogordo High School commons area. For more information on homecoming week and future events held by APS, visit www.returnoftheroar.com.

Alamogordo schools plan early release on Friday for Homecoming Celebrations… Early dismissals will occur on Friday, Sept. 1 on the following schedule: 

Elementary Schools: 11:50 a.m. 

Holloman Middle School: 12:20 p.m. 

Mountain View and Chaparral Middle: 12:45 p.m. 

Alamogordo High School: 1 p.m.

Come on out Friday and show the Tigers the community supports then with a “#return the roar” to Tiger Country.
