Democratic Party of New Mexico Otero County Ward Elections

REVISED CALL to VIRTUAL WARD MEETINGS/ELECTIONS to ELECT PRE-PRIMARY
STATE-CONVENTION DELEGATES and to the VIRTUAL COUNTY CONVENTION

NEW DATE and TIME for COUNTY CONVENTION: The virtual Otero County Democrats’ 2024 County Pre-Primary Convention will be called to order at12pm (noon) on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Here is the Zoom link to REGISTER for the Feb. 25th Otero Democrats County Convention.

After you register for the County Convention, you will receive an email with a link to join the convention. Save that email so you can join the convention on February 25th.

Because this will be a “pass through” (aka “certifying”) pre-primary convention, the convention electors will certify the ward-elected delegates to be Otero County Democrats’ state-convention delegates.

NEW DATE and TIME for WARD MEETINGS: There will be two virtual Otero County Ward meetings – both on February 15th – one at 11am and one at 6:30pm.

ALL Otero County Democrats are invited to SIGN UP and ATTEND. The purpose of these ward meetings is three-fold:

  1. to open the floor to

    nominations of additional candidates for state-convention delegates

  2. to explain the absentee voting process
  3. to answer general questions

    about the pre-primary conventions (county and state)

After you register for one (or both) Ward meetings, you will receive an email with a link to join the meeting. Save that email so you can join the ward meeting on February 15th.

SIGN UP SO YOU CAN VOTE – and/or RUN for DELEGATE

If you want to be a WARD ELECTOR (a person who votes for candidates for state-convention delegate) and/or if you want to declare yourself as a CANDIDATE for state-convention delegate, you MUST fill out this WARD SIGN-UP FORM. ←←← CLICK THE LINK to OPEN THE FORM

 ONLY those people who fill out the WARD SIGN-UP FORM (and who are “30-day Dems”) will receive a ballot to vote.

WHAT IS A 30-DAY DEM?

Any resident of Otero County who was registered as a Democrat in the county by January 17, 2024(that is, 30 days before the Ward voting begins) is a 30-day Dem for the Ward elections.
