The City of Alamogordo Announced thr Local Government Positions up for election to be filled for the City of Alamogordo at the next Regular Local Election on November 7, 2023.
Each position is for a four-year term.
District One (1) Commissioner
District Three (3) Commissioner
District Five (5) Commissioner
District Six (6) Commissioner
To declare Candidacy for the positions, you must be a resident of New Mexico and must reside in the district you are seeking to run for.

All Declarations of Candidacies shall be filed in the Office of the Otero County Clerk on August 29, 2023, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
All Declarations of Candidacy for write-in candidates shall be filed in the Office of the County Clerk on September 5, 2023, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
September 5, 2023, is the last day to withdraw as a candidate for the Regular Local Election.
Voter Registration
Register to vote and make any changes or corrections to your voter registration by October 10, 2023, so you may vote at the next Regular Local Election. You may contact the County Clerk’s, 1104 N. White Sands Blvd., Suite C, or 575 437-4942 or on their website co.otero.nm.us.
Any individual meeting the eligibility requirements may run for election.
There is no legal requirement for party screening, nor party endorsements from either the Democrats of Otero County, nor the Republicans of Otero County.
Individuals may run with or without support of a major party, individuals may run without party endorsements.
Individuals may also run as independent or within the other various recognized party structures.
