The Children’s Music Theater of Alamogordo premieres Shrek The Musical tonight, Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts, kicking off a run of family-friendly performances that promise to fill the theater with laughter, music, and fairy-tale fun.Based on the beloved 2001 DreamWorks Animation film, the stage musical follows the grumpy green ogre Shrek as he teams up with a talkative donkey to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Along the way, they encounter a host of familiar (and not-so-familiar) fairy-tale characters, delivering a story about friendship, acceptance, and learning to love yourself just the way you are.
The production features catchy songs, colorful costumes, and plenty of humor suitable for all ages.

My family has been fishing and hiking around Bonito lake for well over 60 years we were very saddened when It was closed after the little bear fire but very happy when it opened. It should never be closed to recreational fishing and camping.
