Saturday 10/22/22 is the day to volunteer for your community by painting and giving an hour or 2 of community service at the Dudley School Rehabilitation Project hosted by the Tularosa Basin Historic Society.

Then grab a beer and shop to support Dogbreath Express, Spoobell and Siberian Husky Rescue, enjoy vendors food trucks, Doso Dirtbags and Champagne Problems performing in the back parking lot to Roadrunner Emporium and Blush at 10th and New York Avenue. 

Dogtoberfest is hosted by Blush Beauty Bar and Vintage 79 Boutiques.  

Finally end the evening with music and community at Roadrunner Emporium to be entertained by Sage Gentlewing from 6 pm to 8 pm. ALL events are FREE entry.

Dudley School Volunteer Work Project 8 am Maryland Avenue  Alamogordo

The workday will be October 22nd 8 am till about 10:30 am. Volunteers will continue the items started and work on the kitchen area, repairs and painting. There will be work on the fences, building the corner sign/pillars and some minor items as well. So even though not a full workday, I will let you know when I will be there. If you are available, it would be greatly appreciated there is work for all ages and the students get volunteer hours credit and possibly extra credit. Come on out all ages young and older is greatly appreciated and needed.

6 pm to 8 pm Roadrunner Emporium hosts musician Sage Gentlewing 

C’mon out to Roadrunner Emporium Saturday Night 6 pm to 8 pm and enjoy some energizing yet relaxing original music and twisted covers, killer guitar jams, and sweet but gritty vocals, also not to be missed on old Mesilla and Cloudcroft.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the ’50s and musically coming of age in the Psychedelic ’60s, Sage was exposed to every type of music from Blues to Jazz, Country to Folk, Rock to Classical, acoustic to electric, Bluegrass to Celtic, Soul, Funk, R&B to everything in between and beyond.

Most folks know him as a guitarist - and technically “Lap Steel“ guitar was, in fact, his first instrument.

He studied and played that instrument for two years in the late ’50s as a boy, but in 1964 he switched to DRUMS, learning the instrument quickly as a “natural” drummer, but also with weekly lessons for two years.

While still studying drums, but not yet performing on them, he joined his very first band “Just Us” while still in 8th grade as the Lead Singer in the style of Mick Jagger- playing blues harp, tambourine, and Maracas and dancing around the stage like a wild man.

Come celebrate the Alamogordo Downtown experience of volunteerism, Dogtoberfest and Sage Gentlewing free performance at Roadrunner Emporium.
