The Flickinger Center is proudly partnering with the Museum of Space History to bring you the 2022 Tailgate Summer Concert Series!

There will be four live shows.

June 4th, Justin Kemp Band

Justin was born and raised in Hobbs, New Mexico on the Texas Border. Growing up in a musical family he was heavily influenced by the great Merle Haggard, George Jones, Keith Whitley, and all of the legends going back to the 1970’s. Once he picked up the guitar at the age of eleven there was no turning back. He began songwriting in High School and pursued music at South Plains College in Levelland, TX. With the support of his father, David Kemp, who also plays bass and keyboard with the band, the Justin Kemp Band was born. Justin co-writes many of the original songs the band records along with his father and band mate David Kemp. Their recent releases include Borrow A Kiss, Money In My Pocket, Better Man, Heart’s Desire and Legends Never Die. Justin and the band tour nationally and he also performs as a duo with David. They have opened for many major acts including Joe Nichols, Chase Rice, Dylan Scott, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Josh Abbott Band, Kevin Fowler, and Wade Bowen to name a few.

June 18th, Sam Barlow

Sam Barlow is a 26 year old virtuoso guitarist, harmonicist, and vocalist based out of West Texas. Sam "cut his teeth" in Austin, Texas, playing popular Blues/ Rock styles and had the opportunity to sit in with legends such as Jimmie Vaughan and Elvin Bishop. In 2010, Sam's electrifying performance style captured first place in the El Paso "King Of The Blues" guitar competition.

July 2nd, Tripple Jack

Triple Jack is a rock and roll band from Las Cruces. They’ve become hometown favorites playing classic rock, soul, funk, blues, and everything in between

July 16th, CW Ayon and the Longchairs

CW Ayon hails from New Mexico but his soul lives in the grooves of the Mississippi Hill Country. With a rather simple kick/snare and tambourine setup he lays down solid beats while picking out catchy hooks on anything from acoustic to resonator guitars. Sometimes dropping in a bit of harmonica for good measure. All the while building a sound and style that is deceptively larger than it seems.
