Alamogordo, NM – The Alamogordo Town News & KALH Radio Community Forums Salon Series returns this Tuesday, March 3, 2026, providing southern New Mexico residents with a platform to connect with local changemakers. Held at Otero Arts (1118 Indiana Ave Alamogordo), the free event begins at 6 p.m. and wraps up around 7:15–7:30 p.m., fostering an interactive, salon-style discussion where attendees can ask questions, share ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
This month’s session focuses on mental health care, community health strategies, and innovative approaches to addressing local challenges. Featured speakers Kimmie Jordan and Lynn Kimball will draw from their extensive experience in the field to offer practical insights and inspire community action.

Kimmie Jordan, an independently licensed therapist and owner of Kimmie Jordan Mental Health Rehabilitation Services in Alamogordo, has dedicated her career to providing comprehensive mental health support. Operating from her practice at 1215 New York Ave., she specializes in psychiatric rehabilitation, marriage and family therapy, and spiritual and energy healing. Jordan offers services including individual rehabilitation in home and community settings, psychoeducation groups, life coaching, treatment transportation, and mental health advocacy. She also facilitates a PTSD support group on Thursdays at 2 p.m., with appointments available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. With a private practice emphasizing direct services, consulting, advocacy, and education, Jordan is a key figure in Alamogordo’s mental health landscape.

Joining her is Lynn Kimball, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and co-owner of Blue Sky Counseling Associates in Alamogordo. Located at 1021 N. Florida Ave., her practice serves clients aged 7 and up, utilizing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), solution-focused therapy, faith-based counseling, and art and play therapy to address issues like depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, and grief. Before her counseling career, Kimball engaged in community service and mission work in Mexico, Panama, and Nicaragua, influenced by her Christian faith. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Utah and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. As a mother of five and an active community member, Kimball brings a holistic perspective to her work, often incorporating creative and faith-informed methods.
Hosted in partnership with Alamogordo Town News and KALH Radio, these forums aim to highlight individuals and organizations driving positive change in the region. The relaxed format encourages open participation, making it an ideal setting for residents to learn, network, and contribute to local solutions. Admission is free, and all are invited to attend.
