Alamogordo Police are investigating a major commercial burglary that struck the Emerald Market on Indian Wells Road in the early morning hours of November 28.
At approximately 3:10 AM, officers responded to a burglary alarm in the 1700 block of Indian Wells Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the front door of the business had been forced open. Investigators determined that the suspects had cut power to the building from the electric meter before breaking in, disabling security systems and allowing them to steal an estimated $75,000 worth of merchandise.
The Alamogordo Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the case, which remains ongoing. Detectives are urging nearby residents and business owners to review video surveillance footage between 2:00 AM and 3:10 AM for any suspicious activity that may aid the investigation.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Austin Edwards at 575-439-4300 Ext. 5124 or via email at aedwards@ci.alamogordo.nm.us.
This burglary marks one of the largest commercial thefts in Alamogordo in recent years, raising concerns among small business owners about the vulnerabilities during the holidays. Police have not yet released details on potential suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
Chris, well written without any slanting. Excellent reporting!
It is indeed interesting that block and his partner weaponized their opinions during their separate runs for office.
Sunny, with a high of 79 and low of 54 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear during the afternoon and evening,
looks like we're going to be in for a long fire season - thanks to the fire fighters...on the ground and in the air.
I'm absolutely disgusted at this so-called news story.
Hahahahaha. At least someone has the stones to tell the truth.
christian nationalism is a very powerful force in the current republican party structure, and lip service to purity is a practical requirement for political success in that environment. hypocrisy is an ever-present part of human behavior, and pretending otherwise is part of what has gotten us where we are today.
