Alamogordo, N.M. — Otero Arts is transforming the month of April into a vibrant celebration of young talent with its 4th Annual Student Art Show at the Artspace gallery. The exhibition kicks off this Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and runs through April 26, giving the community multiple opportunities to view and support artwork created by students from kindergarten through college level.

To better accommodate the large crowds that typically attend the popular student show, Otero Arts has divided the exhibition into two separate rotations and extended gallery hours for the entire month.

First Rotation (K–6th Grade): April 1 through Sunday, April 12

Second Rotation (7th–12th Grade + NMSU Students): April 15 through Sunday, April 26

New this year, artwork from students at New Mexico State University will be included in the second rotation alongside local middle and high school pieces.

Participating schools include Alamogordo elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as Tularosa Middle School and High School, and Cloudcroft High School.

The Artspace gallery will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout April to welcome friends, family members, teachers, and the general public. Organizers expect strong attendance, especially on opening nights, as families come out to celebrate the students’ achievements.

The Otero Artspace is located at 1118 Indiana Avenue at 12th Street in Alamogordo, in the beautifully restored historic Woman’s Club building in Alamogordo's infamous Block 12 Cultural Arts District Area.

This annual tradition continues Otero Arts’ long-standing commitment to encouraging and showcasing the creativity of local students. Past exhibitions have drawn enthusiastic crowds and provided young artists with valuable public recognition for their hard work and talent.

Mark your calendars and plan to stop by the Artspace this April to support the next generation of local artists!
