Alamogordo, NM — October 17, 2025
Skid Row comes alive this weekend as Alamogordo Music Theatre kicks off its fall production of Little Shop of Horrors at the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts. The cult classic musical, known for its blend of doo-wop tunes, dark humor, and a man-eating plant named Audrey II, runs October 17, 18, 19, 24, and 25, with tickets available online and at the box office.
Directed by Matt Wade, the show features a dynamic cast of local performers bringing the quirky tale to life:
Bradley Oliver stars as Seymour Krelborn, the shy florist’s assistant whose discovery of a strange plant sets off a chain of fame, fortune, and moral chaos.
Jordynn Marelich plays Audrey, Seymour’s sweet but troubled love interest.
Pary Bennett takes on the role of Mr. Mushnik, the gruff flower shop owner.
Gabe Mauger delivers laughs and chills as Orin, the sadistic dentist.
Stephen Pettigrew voices Audrey II, the ever-growing, ever-hungry plant with a sinister agenda.
The show’s signature street trio—Chiffon, Crystal, and Ronnette—are portrayed by Azalia Garcia, Ardrianna Sharp, and Rosemary Daffern, respectively, adding soulful commentary and musical flair throughout the performance.
Supporting ensemble members include Everette Brown, Christopher Medina, Madison Miller, Tim Wolfson, Jenna Weightman, and Allison La Corte, rounding out a cast that celebrates Alamogordo’s vibrant community theatre scene.
A Cult Classic with Local Heart
Originally written by Howard Ashman with music by Alan Menken, Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour’s rise from obscurity to notoriety after he cultivates a mysterious plant that feeds on human blood. As the plant’s appetite grows, so does Seymour’s desperation, leading to a series of outrageous—and tragic—twists.
“This show is a celebration of community theatre at its finest,” said an AMT spokesperson. “From the cast to the crew to the audience, Little Shop of Horrors brings us together with laughter, music, and a little bit of madness.”
