Tularosa and Alamogordo Cheer Teams Dominate at Alamogordo Spirit Classic

Alamogordo, New Mexico – March 9, 2026

Local cheer squads brought the energy and excitement to the Alamogordo Spirit Classic held on Saturday, March 7, at the Lawrence E. Johnson Tiger Pit, hosted by Alamogordo High School. The event featured talented cheer teams from across New Mexico, showcasing unforgettable performances and school spirit in various categories.

Congratulations to the Tularosa Wildcat Cheer team for securing first place in both the 2A-3A Gameday and Cheer with Music competitions. Their dynamic routines impressed judges and spectators alike.

Equally impressive, the Alamogordo Tiger Cheer team took home first in the 5A Cheer with Music category, demonstrating precision and enthusiasm on their home turf.

Participating area teams included Alamogordo, Tularosa, Mescalero Apache, Mountain View Middle School, and Chaparral Middle School, among others from the state.

Looking ahead, the Tularosa Wildcats will compete at the A-3A State Spirit Championships on March 21 in Albuquerque. The Alamogordo Tigers are set to participate in the 5A State Spirit Championships on the same day in Albuquerque.

This local competition serves as a key preparatory event leading into the state championships, highlighting the dedication and talent of New Mexico’s cheer athletes.
