Regional Boys Basketball Tournament Play this weekend included Tularosa defeating Cobre 55-52 at the Johnny May Classic. Fabian Pacheco led the Wildcats with 17 points, Jacoby Apachito and Zaine Hodges each had 9 and Estevan Barraza with 7. The Wildcats improved their record to 3-0.
Then in Boys Basketball Silver defeated Tularosa 60-58 in the Johnny May Classic championship game. Estevan Barraza led the Wildcats with 12 points, Eluciano Gonzales had 10, Fabian Pacheco, Jacoby Apachito and Seth Kazhe each had 8. The Wildcats dropped to 3-1 and next play at Mescalero Apache on Tuesday.
Boys Basketball - Cliff defeated Cloudcroft 65-45 in the Mountain Top Tournament championship game. The Bears dropped to 3-4 and next play at Gateway Christian on Monday.
Boys Basketball - Mescalero Apache defeated Capitan 81-48 at the Mescalero Holiday Tournament. Landyn Hiles led the Chiefs with 19 points, Davin Davis had 17 and Avin Yellowcloud with 14. The Chiefs improved to 2-5 and next host Tularosa on Tuesday.
Girls Basketball - Mescalero Apache defeated Alamo Navajo 52-42 at the Mescalero Holiday Classic. Skyla Enjady led the Lady Chiefs with 16 points and 10 rebounds, K-Rae Chino had 12, Laurdis Sundayman with 10, Molly Pena had 4 and Cielo Herrera 4 and 8 boards. The Lady Chiefs improved to 5-2 and next host Tularosa on Tuesday.
Girls Basketball - Lordsburg defeats Cloudcroft 63-44 at the Mountain Top Tournament. The Lady Bears drop to 4-4 and next play at Gateway Christian on Monday.
