Alamogordo Police Department Arrested David Pena and Angela Moreno for Fraud
Police arrest David Pena and Angela Moreno for multiple counts of fraud. In September AlamogordoTownNews.org and KALHRadio.org released videos and ran a series of articles on the alleged fraud being perpetrated by David Pena and Angela Moreno under the business operations of Alamogordo Technology Solutions.
On September 6th we covered the police raid, eviction and police advisory concerning the business.
In a September 9th article titled Alamogordo Police Department Document Dump and Videos Around Allegations of Fraud by Alamogordo Technology Solutions
We reported that public concerns dated back 2 years showing a history of upset customers, Better Business Bureau complaints and more claiming consumers were defrauded, or services promised were not delivered timely, nor as agreed upon.
Information from Incident # 24A-09592 details that on "August 20, 2024, Detective Bunker was assigned a case in reference to several reports of fraudulent activity coming from the same business, Alamogordo Technology Solutions, 3205 North White Sands. I reviewed 15 reports of fraud allegations against Alamogordo Technology Solutions ranging in value from approximately $200 to $2500. I learned from the reports multiple individuals provided payment to owner of Alamogordo Technology Solutions for services or products they never received, or received but were not fixed or had other significant issues." The story detailed deception and fraud over a period of several years.
Today, the Alamogordo Police Department detailed vis a press release explaining the investigation that has now led to the arrest of David Pena and Angela Moreno.
Per the release, March of 2024, the Alamogordo Police Department Detective Division assumed an investigation regarding the alleged fraudulent activity of a purported business called Alamogordo Technology Solutions (3205 N. White Sands Blvd.) The owners were identified as 42-year-old David Pena and his wife, 42-year-old Angela Moreno, both residents of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
This investigation included complaints ranging from May 2020 through September 2024. Detectives were able to develop probable cause for 32 victims who fell to the continuing pattern of fraudulent schemes presented by the purported business such as false advertising, payment collection, failure to deliver, deceptive communication, and ignoring customer requests.
As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were granted for David Pena and Angela Moreno.
On October 11, 2024, both David Pena and Angela Moreno were arrested and incarcerated at the Otero County Detention Center pending their first appearance in Magistrate Court.
David Pena is being charged with the following:
18 counts-Fraud (4th-degree felony; over $500.00 less than $2,500.00)
11 counts-Conspiracy to Commit Fraud (4th-degree felonies)
12 counts-Fraud (misdemeanor; less than $500)
Angela Moreno is being charged with the following:
13 counts-Fraud (4th-degree felony; over $500.00 less than $2,500.00)
13 counts-Conspiracy to Commit Fraud (4th-degree felonies)
10 counts-Fraud (misdemeanor; less than $500)
