Alamogordo High School Golden Scholars Recognized for Outstanding Academic Performance

At Alamogordo High School an ongoing program that began several years ago is recognizing the Alamogordo High School Tigers Golden Scholars. The driving force behind the Golden Scholar is a commitment to academic excellence. This week Alamogordo High School hosted its annual recognition event of the 2024 Golden Scholars and also named this year’s Valedictorian and Salutatorian more to follow on each of them in a future story.
Academic achievement is the sole criteria for initial membership and plays the major role in continuing membership
A secondary factor in maintaining membership is a commitment to a personal or group goal which requires the use of each intent of the Golden Scholars to provide an organization whose mission is to provide team support to young people in their pursuit of academic excellence and its application and practice.
Eligibility for Golden Scholars consists of any secondary student on a standard program of study who successfully completes the first semester of their tenth grade year and maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.7500 or above every year thereafter. A recognition of these students academic achievements highlights the importance of the academic traditions of Alamogordo High School as the leading institution for Alamogordo students for over 126 years. A history of success that includes many students from Alamogordo continuing to college and academic and then professional success. These students are a shining example that public education can provide a foundation for success for those applying themselves in New Mexico and in Alamogordo.
