Carlsbad defeated Alamogordo’s tournament winning streak with a 10-0 win in the championship game of the Kristin Griego Tournament in Rio Rancho.
The Lady Tigers record is now 7-4. They begin district on Monday at Centennial.
Other sports news includes Softball Eldorado defeated Tularosa 5-3 at the Kristin Griego Tournament in Rio Rancho.
The Lady Cats drop to 2-5, next host Santa Teresa & Chaparral on Tuesday.
In baseball action Baseball Hatch Valley defeated Tularosa 4-2 at the NMMI Colt Classic in Roswell. The Wildcat Boys dropped to 3-4.
Next Texico defeated Tularosa 13-2 as the NMMI Colt Classic continued and the Wildcats are now 3-5. They will play at Hot Springs on Monday.
And finally Mescalero Apache Boys split a doubleheader vs. Jal on Saturday - falling 22-6 in Game 1 and winning 19-18 in Game 2. The Chiefs are now 3-8-1 this season, next host Elida on Wednesday.
