In Memory of Samantha Joan McDowell

Samantha Joan McDowell (Giese), age 39, of Alamogordo, NM, formerly of Branson, MO, formerly of Tipton, MO, passed away in her apartment in Lubbock, TX on Thursday, October 18, 2024.

Samantha was born on December 2, 1984, in Great Falls, MT to Steven W. Giese and Judith A. Hilgert.

Sam was an avid traveler; that was her passion, she was a wanderlust; she wanted to see the world and breath in the air of as many different places and countries as possible. She married her husband, William (Robbie) McDowell on December 8, 2019, they said, "I do" and off they went. They lived and they saw. The world was her oyster, and she was the world's perfect pearl.

Besides her love for traveling, she loved her family. She loved her husband Robbie and his boys, Kevin and Landon. She loved her nieces Alexzay and Genesis and nephews Dakota and Müzik to pieces, she would tell me often how they never ceased to amaze her.

Sam was an angel in human form. She loved to help others, whether it was helping you see and reach your full potential or donating to a children's toy drive. She loved to help. I believe her earthly duties had been fulfilled and God called her home because her work is to be continued by those she loved and the lives she changed.

Samantha was a store manager for Home Depot. She began her journey with Home Depot in Branson, MO in 2017, she was transferred to Harrison, AK where she trained to be a store manager. When she passed her SM test, she was elated and began looking for stores. She was transferred to Alamogordo, NM where she was the store manager for 3 years. She had just recently been transferred to a store in Lubbock, TX.

She graduated from Tipton High School in 2003. She graduated from CMSU in 2007.

Samantha is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Shirley Giese and her maternal grandparents, Hilary and Virginia Hilgert, and her great uncle James Hilgert.

Samantha leaves behind her husband Robbie McDowell; his two sons, Kevin and Landon; father, Steven Giese (Laurie Giese); mother, Judith Hilgert; sister, Kimberly May (William May); two nieces, Alexzay and Genesis; two nephews, Dakota and Müzik; two stepsisters, Heather (Derek) Feldkamp and Katie Scott; and great-nephew, Kingston.

Visitation was held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, November 1, 2024, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Tipton, MO.

"Not all those who wander are lost."

"I want my mind to be in constant awe of the beauty of this world. I want to see things with new eyes."

"Wanderlust consumed her; foreign hearts and exotic minds compelled her. She had a gypsy soul and a vibrant hope for the unknown."
