The Alamogordo Tigers and Lady Tigers delivered strong performances at the 2026 NMAA 5A State Golf Championships, held at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces on May 11-12. The boys’ team secured a runner-up finish, while the girls placed third, highlighting another successful season for the local programs.
Boys Team Standings (Top 3)
• 1st: La Cueva – 596
• 2nd: Alamogordo – 618 (312-306)
• 3rd (tie): Volcano Vista – 619 and Cibola – 619
The Tigers posted a competitive two-day total, improving from 312 in the first round to 306 in the second to claim silver. La Cueva edged out the field for the team title.
Individual Highlights for Alamogordo Boys:
• Dyson Wright – 2nd overall (72-73 = 145)
• Brody Wright – 11th (72-80 = 152)
• Landon Wright – T-14th (81-73 = 154)
• Kolton Stagner – T-22nd (78-80 = 158)
• Jacobi Saldevar – T-28th (81-80 = 161)
• Andrez Montoya – T-32nd (82-81 = 163)
Dyson Wright earned runner-up honors in the individual standings, falling just short of champion Nixon Knee of La Cueva. His steady play anchored the team effort.
Girls Team Standings (Top 3)
• 1st: Organ Mountain – 655
• 2nd: La Cueva – 671
• 3rd: Alamogordo – 677 (342-335)
The Lady Tigers improved by seven strokes on the second day to secure third place behind Organ Mountain (first-time state champions) and La Cueva.
Individual Highlights for Alamogordo Girls:
• Tatum Wright – 6th (84-80 = 164)
• Ellie Clore – T-10th (86-83 = 169)
• Ava Armijo – T-13th (89-82 = 171)
• Kylee Wright – T-16th (83-90 = 173)
• Annelisia Herrera – 33rd (98-94 = 192)
Tatum Wright led the Lady Tigers with a sixth-place individual finish.
Congratulations to the Tigers and Lady Tigers on their outstanding placements at the state level! Special recognition goes to Dyson Wright for his second-place individual finish. These results reflect the hard work, dedication, and talent of Alamogordo’s student-athletes and their coaches throughout the season.
