ALAMOGORDO — Four Alamogordo High School tennis players have qualified for the 2026 NMAA 5A State Tennis Tournament, with Talee Westover in girls singles, Tate Westover in boys singles, and the sister duo of Bella and Shelby Romero in girls doubles all earning berths.
The qualifiers were determined following the District 3-5A Tournament held Saturday. Brackets for both the individual and team state tournaments were released Sunday.

• Girls Team – Alamogordo vs. La Cueva, Friday, 11:00 AM
Individual Tournament
• Girls Doubles – No. 6 Bella Romero / Shelby Romero vs. Aubrey Romero / Etsuko Yamaguchi (Santa Fe), Wednesday, 12:00 PM
• Boys Singles – Tate Westover vs. Cristian Olson (Albuquerque High), Wednesday, 1:30 PM
• Girls Singles – Talee Westover vs. No. 3 Lily Walker (Cleveland), Wednesday, 1:30 PM

District 3-5A Tournament Results (Saturday)
Boys Singles
• Tate Westover – 2nd Place
• Semifinals: def. Roxis Kendall (Las Cruces) 6-2, 6-2
• Final: lost to George Gibson (Centennial) 6-3, 6-1
Girls Doubles
• Bella Romero / Shelby Romero – 2nd Place
• Semifinals: def. Valerie Gonzalez / Camilla Hernandez (Mayfield) 6-1, 7-5
• Final: lost to Annie Lee / Isabelle Lescombes (Centennial) 6-0, 6-2
Girls Singles
• Talee Westover – 3rd Place
• Semifinals: lost to Savannah Reiman (Organ Mountain) 7-5, 6-1
• 3rd Place Match: def. Kelina Stout (Las Cruces) by walkover
Talee Westover, Tate Westover, and the Romero sisters will now represent Alamogordo at the state tournament this week, facing tough opening-round opponents. The Tigers’ girls team will also compete in the team bracket on Friday.
