April 16, 2026 – Alamogordo, NM - The Alamogordo High School girls powerlifting team turned in a stellar performance at the 2026 NMAA Girls Powerlifting State Championships, held on April 11, 2026, at the Rio Rancho Events Center. The Lady Tigers finished 2nd overall in Class 5A with 30 team points, missing the state title by only two points.

The tight races across divisions, especially the two-point margin in 5A, showcased the high level of competition statewide.
Alamogordo Individual Highlights (Class 5A)
• 114 lb class:
Macey Sebring – 3rd place, total lift of 550.00 lbs
• 123 lb class:
Alloriah Reynolds – 1st place, total lift of 625.00 lbs
Addison Chamberlain – 3rd place, total lift of 592.50 lbs
• 132 lb class:
Hailey Evans – 1st place, total lift of 735.00 lbs
• 198 lb class:
Liliana Amaya – 2nd place, total lift of 805.00 lbs
• 259+ lb class:
Devaeh Joseph – 2nd place, total lift of 830.00 lbs
These strong individual performances — including two state titles and multiple podium finishes — powered Alamogordo’s 30-point team total. Points are awarded per weight class based on placement (7 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, etc.), with team scores summed across all lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift.
The Lady Tigers competed against top programs from across New Mexico and demonstrated impressive depth and strength throughout the season. Local fans and the Alamogordo community have praised the team for their dedication and near-miss at repeating as state champions.
