Alamogordo, NM – March 15, 2026 – The City of Alamogordo’s Street Department has announced upcoming maintenance work on the crosswalks at the intersection of White Sands Boulevard and 10th Street, which will involve temporary lane closures to ensure the safety of both drivers and city crews.
The maintenance is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16, and continue through Friday, March 20. Work will take place during overnight hours, from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., to minimize disruption to daytime traffic. Crews will start on the west side of the intersection and proceed counterclockwise, addressing each section of the crosswalk in sequence.
Lane closures will be implemented as necessary while the team works on specific areas. City officials are urging residents and motorists to exercise caution in the vicinity, adhere to all posted signage, and remain vigilant for the safety of everyone involved.
“We kindly request that drivers exercise caution when navigating this area and appreciate your patience and understanding,” stated the Public Information Office in their release. They emphasized that the crews will work efficiently to complete the project and restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
