Alamogordo Police Logs: A Busy Holiday Week of Warrants, DWIs, and Property Crimes WE Dec 28, 2025

The week leading into Christmas (December 22–28, 2025) kept Alamogordo Police Department officers on their toes with a steady mix of warrant services, impaired driving arrests, shoplifting reports, and disturbances — typical for the holiday season when more folks are out and about.

Officers handled numerous bench warrant arrests, often during routine public contacts, traffic stops, or calls for service. Several individuals were booked into Otero County Detention Center on failure-to-appear or failure-to-pay charges from Municipal or Magistrate Court.

DWI arrests stood out over the week, including multiple cases tied to traffic stops, crashes, and disturbances. Charges ranged from first-offense DWI to aggravated cases involving revoked licenses or injuries.

Property crimes and thefts also appeared frequently:

• Shoplifting incidents → leading to summons or arrests

• A reported burglary from earlier in the season

• Larceny of items like an electric scooter from a park and valuables over $500

Trespassing calls remained common, with citations issued at locations like the White Sands Mall and local businesses. A few assault and battery cases stemmed from domestic or public disputes, along with one possession of a controlled substance arrest.

Animal-related complaints resulted in several “animals at large” citations, plus one cruelty to animals case. Other notable incidents included an unattended death ruled natural causes, indecent exposure, improper burning, and malicious use of telephone.

Overall, the logs reflect the usual holiday uptick in alcohol-related incidents and warrant roundups, but no major spikes in violent crime were noted.

As always, these are initial reports — everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
