ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The 2025 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Class 5A Cross Country Championships delivered a thrilling showcase of endurance, strategy, and school pride at Albuquerque Academy, where Cleveland High School and Eldorado High School emerged as state champions in the boys and girls divisions, respectively.
Boys 5A Championship Results
Cleveland High School dominated the field with a commanding 36-point finish, led by individual state champion Lucas Espinosa, who crossed the line in a blazing 15:13.7. Rio Rancho followed with 61 points, and La Cueva secured third with 118.
Girls 5A Championship Results
Eldorado High School claimed the girls title with 50 points, edging out Cleveland (56) and Rio Rancho (105). Eldorado’s Gianna Rahmer delivered a standout performance, winning the individual crown in 17:02.2.
Alamogordo Tigers Close Season with Determination
Representing Otero County with pride, the Alamogordo High School cross country teams competed fiercely in the 5A division. The Lady Tigers placed 12th, while the boys team finished 14th, demonstrating resilience and teamwork throughout the season.
