The Alamogordo Police Department recorded a total of 89 incidents between September 29 and October 5, 2025, reflecting a busy week of law enforcement activity across the city. The official report, released by the City of Alamogordo, highlights a range of public safety concerns including juvenile offenses, drug-related arrests, traffic collisions, and property crimes.
Juvenile Referrals and School-Related Incidents
Law enforcement referred 18 juvenile cases to the Juvenile Probation Office. These included:
• Eight shoplifting cases, primarily at local grocery stores
• Five cannabis possession violations on school grounds, including Alamogordo High School and Chaparral Middle School
• Three auto burglary and conspiracy cases
• One bomb scare and shooting threat
• One reckless driving incident
Drug and Paraphernalia Charges
At least ten arrests were made for possession of controlled substances or drug paraphernalia. Charges included methamphetamine and fentanyl possession, as well as unlawful firearm transactions.
Shoplifting and Property Crimes
Police responded to twelve shoplifting incidents, with charges ranging from theft under $250 to over $2,500. Several cases involved repeat offenses and additional charges such as resisting arrest and burglary.
Trespassing violations were also prevalent, with eight cases involving unauthorized entry into condemned properties, retail establishments, and private residences. Officers documented three burglary reports, including one involving a stolen firearm.
Traffic Crashes and DWI Arrests
Three vehicle crashes with injuries were reported:
• A collision at Oregon Avenue and 9th Street
• An accident at 1st Street and Washington Avenue
• A parking lot crash involving auto burglary and firearm theft
Multiple arrests were made for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and hit-and-run violations, including failure to report accidents and driving without a license.
Domestic and Public Disturbances
Police responded to seven domestic-related incidents, including battery against household members and property damage. Additionally, six disorderly conduct citations were issued at locations including restaurants, pharmacies, and trailer parks.
Warrants and Court Violations
More than fifteen arrests were made on outstanding warrants from Municipal, Magistrate, and District Courts. Charges included failure to appear, probation violations, and trafficking offenses.
