OTERO ARTS SEPTEMBER EVENTS: A VIBRANT MONTH OF CREATIVITY AHEAD

Alamogordo N.M. - Otero Arts is gearing up for an exciting September filled with diverse artistic experiences, from outdoor painting exhibitions to photography workshops and live musical performances. Here’s what the community can look forward to this month:

Plein Air Exhibition (September 4-26)

Celebrate the beauty of natural light painting at the Otero Artspace. The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, September 4, from 5 to 7 pm, featuring works by local artists painting landscapes in oil, watercolor, pastel, and gouache across Alamogordo and neighboring towns. The Artspace will be open to the public from 1 to 4 pm Thursday through Sunday. The exhibition remains open to plein air painters in Southern New Mexico—it’s not too late to apply! Samuel Pollack Concert (September 18)

Don’t miss an evening of healing and relaxation as Alamogordo native Samuel Pollack returns to perform at the Artspace at 7 pm. The traveling professional musician, who has spent over 15 years collecting and mastering rare wind instruments, will perform a repertoire designed to promote relaxation and healing. Tickets are $15; purchase at oteroarts.org.

Desert Reflections & Your Creative Spark Photography Workshop (September 26)

Join speaker Leslee Ames-Rogers for a unique interactive experience combining neuroscience with vibrant local artistry. Discover how the serene desert landscape can unlock creativity and enhance brain health and productivity. 1 to 4 pm, Free admission (registration encouraged). Call 843-224-5423.
