The New Mexico Environment Department is coordinating with multiple public water systems in the Ruidoso area following severe flooding this week.
Several drinking water systems in the Ruidoso area experienced damage or service disruptions due to flooding. In response, several systems have issued Precautionary Boil Water Advisories to protect the health of residents and visitors:
Residents and businesses using water from these systems should boil water for at least one
minute before:
• Drinking
• Making coffee, tea and other drinks
• Making ice
• Cooking
• Washing fruits and vegetables
• Using water to feed a baby
• Brushing teeth
• Providing as drinking water for pets
The following systems reported no significant impact or service disruptions:
i would imagine that the folks who have seen their homes destroyed, or been displaced during necessary infrastructure repairs, would appreciate whatever accommodations that could be given to them. my heart goes out to all who have suffered thru these storms.
