On May 15, 2025, New Mexico State Police arrested a New Mexico Corrections Department Officer on multiple charges of Criminal Sexual Contact of female inmates after a lengthy investigation.
The investigation began on April 16, 2025, when the New Mexico State Police Uniform Bureau received information about alleged sexual assaults that occurred at the Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Grants, NM. Multiple female inmates alleged that corrections officer Elijah Williams (21) sexually assaulted them.
During the investigation, New Mexico State Police revealed credible evidence suggesting Williams engaged in unlawful sexual contact with incarcerated women under his supervision at the facility. The alleged incidents occurred over a period of time, resulting in the inmates coming forward and making complaints.
Williams turned himself in to New Mexico State Police on May 15, 2025 and was booked into the Cibola County Detention Center without further incident. He is being charged with the following:
4 Counts of Criminal Sexual Contact
1 Count of Battery
“We acted immediately, terminating the individual and notifying State Police,” said New Mexico Corrections Department Cabinet Secretary Alisha Tafoya Lucero. “We have zero tolerance for any misconduct, and any officer or staff member who engages in misconduct will be fully removed and referred for criminal prosecution to the fullest extent.”
This incident remains under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
From quarterback to wide receiver.
Cabinet Secretary Alisha Tafoya Lucero's response was a little vague.
Did she fire him on April 16 on the grounds of just allegations of misconduct? Or did she leave him in his position for a full month with the opportunity of committing further sexual misconduct?
One would hope that he was switched to other duties during the investigation that would remove his opportunity for further misconduct without penalizing him for just allegations against him.

I really love these protests against president Trump.
They serve as a constant reminder of what the alternatives to Trump are.
Deepening his support.

While the Rad Retrocade won't be bad for the city, and may even be
good for the city, I don't agree that it's what's "best" for the city.
I happen to agree with Rev. Hopkins that the city needs to focus more
on getting manufacturing and other light industrial into the city.
hope the general hydronics crew ain't the same one that did the new line for mountain orchard mutual domestic water association in haynes cyn - work wouldn't be finished in time for trump's re-election campaign...
This is a project that should've been in the planning stage as soon as
the 9th street bridge was closed years ago.
Why does it take a year to design a bridge who's parameters are already
known? We know the basic design, a box culvert, the width length and
Well, I guess it's a good thing then that the Trump administration is cutting Medicaid, because it will cut off necessary medical aid to not only New Mexico residents, but undocumented immigrants, too.

just watch what happens when hospitals don't get paid....
Yah, hospitals. Especially now that corporates are recognized as individuals, for political contribution purposes, @ least.
The good news is that if a criminal forces an officer to pull their gun,
that criminal can be fairly sure that the officer is justified in pulling the
trigger, and their next of kin won't be receiving a huge settlement.
Maybe, just maybe criminals will think twice, but I doubt it.
Confirmed with tripartisan support, even Rhino Mitch McConnell voted to
confirm him, while fellow Rhino Lindsey Graham abstained.
Most are being held in the Otero County jail awaiting trial.
I would hope that the remainder are in state or federal facilities.
Because why would you release someone who has already
demonstrated that they will not appear when summoned?
