An Inspector General's report has been released concerning an incident involving Air Force Major General Christopher Finerty. Now retired, Major General Christopher Finerty was stripped of a star after an inspector general investigation found he engaged in multiple inappropriate sexting relationships; including with an enlisted airman and congressional staffers and had an affair with a married woman.
Finerty retired in November 2024 after the conclusion of an officer grade determination that demoted him to brigadier general, the Air Force said.
The IG concluded in a September 2023 report that Finerty violated the Uniform Code of Military Justice’s rules against “conduct unbecoming an officer” by engaging in inappropriate relationships with five women. The report, first reported about by Politico, was only recently posted online.
Finerty acknowledged to investigators that his behavior came “close to a line,” but he maintained that he never crossed it, saying the relationship never became physical. The “intimate exchanges” in the messages amounted to “fantasy banter,” he argued as reported by Military Times.
The official bio of Air Force Major General Christopher Finerty reports that he had a
Rating as a command pilot with more than 3,300 houd of flight time in Aircraft flown to include T-37, T-1, UH-1N and HH-60G.

This is absolutely awesome! It would be nice to see some transparency on ALL elected officials also. Specifically police and warrant records before the election.
Sunny, with a high of 105 and low of 74 degrees. Sunny for the morning, clear overnight.
Thank you for your in-depth story on Freddie Duran. Freddie and I went to school together, and played in the awesome Tiger Band. He was also in choir, and always ready to entertain anyone who would listen. He was a great entertainer and just a great guy. He will be missed.
So, it went from a semi open primary to a closed selection process limited to registered democrats being eligible for selection? Interesting.
i have participated in a much smaller scope version of this same situation - about 20 years ago, as a precinct chairman of the democratic party in a rural east texas county. after the primary election, the democratic candidate for a seat on the county commission suddenly died.
So any candidate regardless of party affiliation may submit their name for consideration?
here's hoping for expansion in the elephant graveyard...i can hardly wait until november 3rd.
It can join the corpses at the ******* cemetary.
It would be interesting to watch the gop party crumble the way the county democrat party did.
thank you for a clear review of the coverage of this grievous occurrence. i would make several observations:
A killing is a killing.
