Otero County Advocates for Developmental Disabilities Hosting CPR Class and "Let's Hang Out Together Fridays"
Christina Hastings CFPSWP is the president of Otero County Advocates for Developmental Disabilities and she is an individual that is a strong advocate for the organization of which she works tirelessly daily.
There are several upcoming events her organization is hosting. To enroll or to find out more call 575 921 2193
Coming up this Saturday, July 27th, 2024 OCADD is hosting a "Hand Only CPR Training Class" for individuals with disabilities (intellectual /developmental) and their family members/guardians. If you are not trained in full CPR, Hands-only CPR is CPR without rescue breaths which is simple to learn and easy to remember, especially outside medical settings. It increases the likelihood of surviving cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs.
The event has limited space (8 seats are still available).
Another upcoming event is Friday, August 16th 2024. Joe Lewandowski from the Tularosa Basin Historic Society will be hosting a special lecture and discussion talking about the 2014 Atari video game dig in Alamogordo, the history, its impact and where are all thodr Artari's found now.
Almost every Friday the organization hosts a "Let's Hangout Together" event at a local restaurant or coffee shop every other Friday. For more information and details call 575 921 2193 or visit the organizations website at https://ocaddresource.org/lets-hangout/

On a personal note: I had the opportunity to work with this great organization last year for a day, when we hosted a very special Ghost and History Tour down New York Avenue and ending at the Tularosa Basin Museum.
It was an amazing experience with a wonderful group of individuals that were engaged and had fun. Please, get to know more about this needed and exciting organization. Participate, join and learn more...
