In other news Alamogordo High School had a very successful and enthusiastic Homecoming week with a win on game night and a week of engagement with the community and students. From a bonfire, to a parade and ending the week with a dance, it was fun and a huge success. The APS staff extended their appreciation to the community for the great support and filling the stands with enthusiastic supporters.

Speaking of football did anyone notice the wonderful facelift that is happening to the football stadium and grounds. The field house, and various parts of Tiger Stadium have been painted and refreshed. After 3 years of planning the labeling of the track in honor of Coach Bob Sepulveda was completed. There are now banners visible on the grandstand of the track and field state championships and the state football championships. A huge thank you to APS and the new athletic director for facilitating these changes!

Choice of roasted chicken or grilled cheese with sugar snap peas or brussels sprouts, peaches or plums, milk, and a roll. Makes us want to go back to school…

This school year, all students at every APS school will receive a free breakfast and a free lunch, thanks to the State of New Mexico SB-4 Bill that was passed earlier this year.

School nutrition fact did you know that the National School Lunch Program  is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.
While on the conversation of nutrition the APS Student Nutrition department is excited to announce that they have applied for and been approved for the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECEDC) after school program dinners for the 2023-24 school year.
