The Alamogordo Police Department had added two new members to its staff.
Earlier this week, the department held a swearing-in ceremony for the newest members of the Alamogordo Police Department. Police Service Aide, Brandyrhae Graf and Code Enforcement Officer Simeon Long has joined the team. Congratulations to these new members.

The department also wanted to send a scam alert to the public of False Calls Targeting Parents.
The APD has received multiple reports of a disturbing scam targeting families in the Alamogordo community. Callers are claiming to have kidnapped a family member and are using AI technology to mimic the voices of loved ones usually children to make the threat seem real.
The calls are coming from different phone numbers each time, making them difficult to trace. These calls are FALSE, but they are understandably causing panic. In some cases, parents have pulled their children from school, fearing for their safety.
Here’s what to do if you receive such a call:
• Stay calm.
• Do NOT share personal or financial information.
• Try to contact your loved one directly.
• Call 911 or the Alamogordo Police Department immediately at (575) 439-4300 to report the incident.
One correction is needed in the “New America” story: Ron deSantis is the governor of Florida, Greg Abbott is the Texas governor.
Sunny, with a high of 101 and low of 74 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear for the afternoon and evening,
Regarding Let’s Grow Alamo. Shouldn't a professional consultant with expertise in this area tell us what will work? Trolling for the public to be "brutally honest" will produce a report filled with excuses, not good ideas, because if anyone here had one, they'd be doing it already, and they aren't.
Seems like the city continues to have projects that go into cost overruns pretty consistently. Maybe watch out for the cost overruns on the Natatorium and see who profits…
If the City hired a qualified construction company, THEY should have bid on the appropriate materials for the job. In this change order, it seems they either didn’t know that the mammoth fire trucks would require a thick concrete pad, or they lowballed their bid, only to come back with this change order.
Another unqualified XX-firebrand wearing an empty suit that's all hat and no cattle. This blog's mountebank has no shortage of self-appointed experts who love to rabble-rouse. The reality is, she could run, but knows that, due to her narcissism, she couldn't get the voters to act on her short-term clickbait.
I seem to remember reading a quote about those that don’t want to change the system, just that they want to be in charge.
