The Trump administration cuts are targeting programs that impact the lives of locals in the Alamogordo area. As reported this week cuts are impacting the AmeriCorps program in Ruidoso putting its continuation at risk. The cuts are impacting the arts with potential cuts of the NEA which will impact funding grants that have been previously awarded to Otero Arts and Flickinger.
Now the outdoor swimming pool at Holloman may not open this year. In a release from the Air Force it is confirmed that there is a freeze on hiring part time summer staff putting the opening of the pool at risk.
