New Mexico Attorney General Investigating Fake Electors

The daughter of well known conservative Alamogordo political operative is one of five individuals under scrutiny by the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office.

Anissa Galacinni Ford-Tinnin, daughter of a former Otero County magistrate judge and political activist, Rocky Galacinni is one of 5 New Mexico fake electors under investigation by the New Mexico attorney general’s office.

On Dec.14, 2020, Democratic electors gathered in Santa Fe to cast their electoral votes for Joe Biden, who won New Mexico’s popular vote by 501,614 votes to Trump’s 401,894. Five Republican electors gathered in the Roundhouse lobby to sign a certificate submitted, in the document’s words, “on the understanding that it might later be determined that we are the duly elected and qualified Electors for President and Vice President of the United States of America from New Mexico.”

The signers were Jewll Powdrell, Lupe Garcia, Deborah Maestas, Rosie Tripp and Anissa Galacinni Ford-Tinnin, who signed as a substitute for Harvey Yates. The state’s previous Attorney General, Hector Balderas, referred the matter to the U.S. Attorney’s office last year, and two of them were subpoenaed by the congressional Jan. 6 committee, but none of them have been charged with a crime as of yet, but an investigation is underway.

The Director of Communications for the AG, Lauren Rodriguez, sent the following statement to KOAT News when asked about an investigation;

"The prior administration referred this matter to the United States Department of Justice and we have been in regular contact with the Department about its progress. In addition, Attorney General Torrez ordered a separate inquiry to determine whether the alleged conduct violated state law. That inquiry is ongoing and now that Special Counsel Jack Smith has unsealed a federal indictment referencing specific conduct in New Mexico, we will work with his office to obtain any and all evidence relevant to the state’s inquiry. Our paramount concern is to gather a complete factual record before making any formal decision in this matter and to coordinate our efforts with our federal law enforcement partners in a manner that best secures the public’s faith in the integrity of the electoral process."

Although Democrats control every statewide elected office in New Mexico, with majorities in the Statehouse, false claims of fraud and manipulation of voting machines in 2020 have resonated in some politically conservative communities, including Otero County, where commissioners in June 2022 initially refused to certify election results.

Former Otero County commissioner and Cowboys for Trump cofounder Couy Griffin was barred last year from holding public office for engaging in the alleged insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

In Georgia further indictments came down yesterday in cases against former President Trump. The Federal case mentions the fake New Mexico electors. The newly filed Georgia case indicts Santa Fe resident and controversial Trump Attorney John Eastman. Eastman also had ties to Otero County as a donor to District 51 state representative John Block.

With multiple investigations ongoing, and multiple indictments being pursued connections to Otero County, New Mexico will continue to be mentioned in the narrative. Stay turned to this evolving story.
