New Mexico Courts Access to Justice Webinar Series

In a release from the New Mexico Courts System they offer an educational opportunity to the public to better understand how the courts operate and access.

"We know sometimes the legal system can be a little intimidating and sometimes confusing so we want to make sure people have access to justice."

Community webinars give information to non-legal community providers about civil legal needs facing their communities. These webinars are developed in consultation with community partners around the state and are presented by subject matter experts on behalf of the New Mexico Courts.

The New Mexico Courts invite the public to a webinar hosted by the New Mexico Commission on Access to Justice Community Webinar Series Virtual Tour of Law Help New Mexico

The most recent webinar includes Carol Garner who is the Statewide Intake, Referral, & Advice Unit Managing Attorney, New Mexico Legal Aid.
Carol was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada and grew up in Alvin, TX.

She graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Law (Cleveland, OH) in 1994, a beneficiary of Case's Second Career-Student program, having 3 children under the age of 3 when she began law school. Upon graduation, she received a Skadden Public Interest Award and worked for 2 more years in Cleveland. She has worked in the legal services arena since 1984, beginning as a paralegal, and has been with New Mexico Legal Aid since August 2018 as the Managing Attorney of its Statewide Intake, Referral & Advice Unit.

New Mexico law on civil legal matters including family law, disability rights, housing, health, employment, and public benefits. This site is also intended to direct New Mexicans to local legal and social services organizations.
