Otero County Association of Educational Retirees (OCAER) Scholarship Opportunity
OCAER will award a $250.00 grant to a student who is currently enrolled in a university, college or technical school certification program and meets the
following criteria:
- Must be a resident of Otero County.
- Must be classified as a degree-seeking freshman, sophomore, junior or senior student at an accredited university or technical school.
- Must currently be enrolled in credited coursework that applies to your degree plan or technical certification.
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on most recent transcript.
OCAER Grant requirements:
- Applicant must complete the grant application form including all requested information.
- A computer-generated, 350-word personal statement about yourself. Statement must include a brief history about yourself; including your current education goals, future career goals, financial need, and identification of any financial aid you will be receiving during the semester you will be awarded this grant.
- An official copy of your most recent college transcript.
- A well-written personal statement about your dreams, goals, financial need, and financial assistance will be the determinant factor in grant committee applicant selection.

OCAER Grant information:
- OCAER grant will be awarded directly to student.
- Recipient will agree to attend an OCAER meeting and briefly speak about their degree and career plans.
- Application packet must be postmarked by April 28, 2023 to be accepted for review.
