Girls Basketball Action:
Artesia defeated Alamogordo 64-52 in 3rd place game at City of Champions Classic. Teeya Gordon led the Lady Tigers with 17 points and was named to the all-tournament team. Abby Vazquez had 13 and Jacqueline Vera with 12. The Lady Tigers record is now 1-4. They next play at Deming on Tuesday.
Mescalero Apache defeated Loving 56-19. Lady Chiefs improve to 1-1, face Hondo on Thursday in 1st game of Mescalero Tournament.
Logan defeated Cloudcroft 52-10 at the Dora Tournament. Lady Bears drop to 1-2, next play at Hagerman on Monday.
Tularosa defeated Cobre 37-34 to win 3rd Place at Red or Green Invitational at Hatch. Aaralyn Stevens led the Lady Cats with 18 points and Maycee Griffin with 8. Lady Cats improve to 2-1, next host Ruidoso on Tuesday.
Boys Basketball Action:
Hobbs defeated Alamogordo 53-44 in 3rd place game at City of Champions Classic in Artesia. Kai Bickham led the Tigers with 12, Davion Smith had 10 and Jason Warren with 7. Bickham named to all-tournament team. The Tiger Boys fall to 2-2, next host Deming on Tuesday.
Lordsburg Boys defeated Cloudcroft Boys 50-33 in 3rd place at the Cliff Roundup. Tyson Thompkins had 11 points and was named to all-tournament team. Bears drop to 1-2, next play at Dexter on Thursday.
Laguna Acoma defeated Mescalero Apache 53-35. Chiefs fall to 0-2, next play Hondo on Thursday in 1st game of Mescalero Tournament.
Hot Springs defeated Tularosa 54-49 at the Rio Grande Shootout in T or C. Dillon Salazar led the Wildcats with 22 points. The Wildcats are 1-2, next host Loving on Thursday in opening game of Johnny May Classic.
Wrestling - Alamogordo Boys finished 3rd and the Girls were 9th at the El Paso Burgess Stampede on Saturday.
