folks outside the power structure were gaining to much influence - they had to be dealt with. absent their influence, the power structure can now return to political control. the progressive impulse has been neutered.... so it was, and ever shall be.
Guess Politics 101 wasn't a requirement for a PhD? Truth really is, she got paid a lot, by default, and helped scatter the other contenders, a couple of times. Now she can manage, uh, something with the county . . Or? HEY! Run for District 2 Commissioner. the settlement isn't significant. Ten grand, I'll bet.
