In Memory of Elizabeth Mae (Patee) Jones

Elizabeth Mae (Patee) Jones of Crow Flat, NM was born February 11, 1932 to Lyman and Sadie Patee, in Tucumcari, NM. She was raised in Alamogordo, NM and married her high school sweetheart Robert A. (Bob) Jones on March 10, 1950. They moved to the family ranch where they raised two sons, Robert (Bobby) and Michael (Mike).

Liz was always a gracious host, cooking many meals for folks who stopped by to visit, and for big crews of cowboys over the years, as well as an excellent seamstress. She was also the local “Mary Kay Lady” for a number of years, sporting her signature red lipstick. Liz was very active in Otero CowBelles and statewide with the New Mexico CowBelles, holding several offices throughout her tenure with the groups. In her later years, Liz enjoyed time with her friends in the “Red Hat” group in Dell City, TX. Liz loved to brag about her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they were a source of great joy, as evident by as many pictures as she could gather of them all. Known widely for her kindness and dedication to her family and friends, Liz will be greatly missed by many.

Liz passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on May 14, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike; and husband, Bob. She is survived by son, Bobby and wife, Pat; granddaughter, Michelle Greeman and husband, Ty; grandson, Mike Jones and wife. Anna; Amanda (Snow) Swanson and husband, Jacob; and nine great grandchildren, Trey, Ethan, Gage, Evie, Zoe, Embrie, Xeric, Corbin, and Gunnar.

A special thank you to Rudy Calderon and family for the care and kindness given to Liz over the several years.

Cremation will take place, with a memorial service to be held in Dell City, TX at Dell Telephone Cooperative on June 3 at 11:00 am

Honorary pallbearers are her great grandchildren.
