"Big Buddy" James Curtis Coulter, a beloved husband, father, veteran, and skilled ironworker, passed away at 77 in his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, surrounded by his loving family.

Buddy graduated from Artesia High School and proudly joined the Army, demonstrating unwavering dedication and courage throughout his years of service.

After retiring from the Army, Buddy found his second calling as an ironworker, where his skilled hands and unwavering work ethic made him a respected figure in the industry. His craftsmanship can be seen in the structures that stand tall, like the Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas, a testament to his talent and commitment to his trade.

When he wasn't casting lines into the lake, Buddy found joy in the company of his friends and family. He was a devoted husband and father of nine children, 27 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren and is also survived by four sisters and three brothers, his love for his family was unwavering. He was a pillar of strength and always ready to guide and support those he cared for.

His adventurous spirit and love for his beloved San Francisco 49ers and automobiles were matched with the same enthusiasm and loyalty he applied to everything in his life.

Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie, whose memory he cherished until the end, as well as his brother, Harry, and mother, Mae Francis. Their legacies live on through him and his family, a testament to the strength and resilience that defined his character.

In his final days, Buddy found peace and comfort in the presence of his loved ones, reflecting on a well-lived life and the countless memories he held dear. All who had the privilege of knowing him will deeply miss his strength and unwavering spirit.

As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched the lives of so many. His legacy will endure through the memories and the stories we share, ensuring that his spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
