New Mexico State Police Conducts Narcotics Investigations in Albuquerque

 From June through August 2025, the New Mexico State Police Crime Suppression Bureau (CSB) conducted several narcotics investigations targeting drug traffickers in Albuquerque. The goal of the operation was to identify and apprehend individuals involved in the distribution of controlled substances, an issue plaguing Bernalillo County.

Through extensive investigative efforts, CSB Narcotics Agents executed numerous controlled purchases of illegal drugs, leading to the execution of arrest and search warrant operations on August 5 and August 7, 2025, with the assistance of the NMSP Tactical Team. These efforts resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of narcotics, firearms, and stolen property.

Arrested:

• Sean Montoya, 22 – Charged with three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Resisting, Evading or Obstructing, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

• Johnny Pacheco, 27 – Charged with three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Traffic a Controlled Substance.

• Alexa Gonzalez Cruz, 19– Charged with three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Resisting, Evading, or Obstructing an Officer.

• Thoumas Chandler, 26 – Charged with three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance.

• Joseph Montoya, 21 – Charged with three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Traffic a Controlled Substance.

• Andre Padilla, 32– Charged with four counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm), and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

• Carlo Guillen, 24 – Charged with three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance.

Narcotics Seized/Purchased:

• Methamphetamine – 20 grams

• Cocaine – 359.2 grams

• Fentanyl – 175 grams

Four firearms were also seized during the operation, including one that was confirmed to be stolen.
