OCEC has scheduled an electric outage for Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
The outage will begin about 8 AM with restoration occurring by 5 PM. All members in Cloudcroft, Timberon, Pinon, Weed, Mayhill, Sacramento, James Canyon and Hwy. 244 coming out of Cloudcroft will be affected. Members should plan to be without electric service most of the day while crews change out some timbers on the transmission line and cut some hazard trees.
The decision to have an extended outage such as this is never taken lightly. Much discussion and planning goes into deciding on the best time for a planned outage.
Unfortunately, these repairs cannot be done while the line is energized. If these repairs are not completed in a controlled fashion, they will cause an unexpected outage in the future. And, finding the problem and making repairs at that time will take much longer.
Sunny, with a high of 86 and low of 58 degrees. Sunny for the morning, clear in the afternoon and evening,
Interesting. Wow. I just looked for this story in the Alamogordo Daily News, thought it would be on the front page. Didn’t see anything. Did this interfere with the big birthday bash? Sure hope not. Looks like it didn’t affect the Burning Bull event. And hopefully the poets at Otero Arts got some of that light.
People want to protest. Where were they when Elijah Hadley was murdered by deputy Diaz?
some of us were present for the marches along north white sands that ended at the sheriff's office...but there certainly should have been more.
