At approximately 2351 hours on April 28, 2022, the Alamogordo Police Department Officers and Detectives responded to the 800 Block of Travis Court in reference to shots fired. Once on scene evidence of shooting was observed and the 12th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit was activated and assumed the investigation which is ongoing.

On December 6th, 2021, at approximately 1839 hours, Officers with the Alamogordo
Police Department responded to the desert area west of the 400 block of White Sands
Boulevard in reference to an unattended death. The initial investigation revealed
suspicious circumstances due to observable injuries on the deceased victim. The 12th
Judicial District Major Crimes Unit was activated and assumed the investigation.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect, 54-year-old Tony Molina. Mr. Molina
was arrested on unrelated charges and has been held without bond.
After an extensive investigation spanning a few months, Mr. Molina is being charged
with an open count of Murder in the 1st Degree and Tampering with Evidence. He
will remain incarcerated pending his appearance in court.
