In softball, Mesilla Valley Christian defeated the Lady Chiefs 16-1. Mescalero Apache dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-2 in district play. The Lady Chiefs will look to bounce back when they host Capitan on Tuesday in a doubleheader.
In baseball, Mesilla Valley Christian cruised past the Chiefs 21-1. Mescalero Apache fell to 2-8 overall and 1-1 in district. The Chiefs will also host Capitan on Tuesday for a doubleheader.
Alamogordo Softball Splits Doubleheader with Mayfield; Baseball Team Swept
The Alamogordo Lady Tigers split a doubleheader with Mayfield on Friday.
In Game 1, Alamogordo edged out a 6-5 win in eight innings. In Game 2, Mayfield rallied for a 12-10 victory. The Lady Tigers now stand at 15-5 overall and 4-5 in district play. They travel to face Las Cruces on Tuesday.
On the baseball side, Mayfield swept the Alamogordo Tigers in a doubleheader: 2-1 in Game 1 and 12-0 in Game 2. The Tigers dropped to 6-14 overall and 0-9 in district. They will host Las Cruces on Tuesday.
Tularosa Wildcats Sweep Hot Springs in Baseball; Lady Cats Dominate Socorro in Softball
The Tularosa Wildcats continued their strong season with a doubleheader sweep of Hot Springs.
In baseball, Tularosa won Game 1 by a score of 15-5 and Game 2 14-4. The Wildcats improved to 13-4 overall and a perfect 9-0 in district play. They will host West Las Vegas on Wednesday.
In softball, the Lady Cats overwhelmed Socorro with scores of 18-1 in Game 1 and 23-1 in Game 2. Tularosa moved to 13-7 overall and 6-0 in district. They will host Hot Springs on Tuesday.
