Spring Into Healthy Aging: Mescalero Elderly Program Invites Community to Vibrant Celebration at Inn of the Mountain Gods

Mescalero, NM — The Mescalero Elderly Program invites elders aged 60 and older, along with community organizations and service providers, to celebrate “Spring Into Healthy Aging” on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino.

Hosted by the Mescalero Elderly Social Center, this special event offers an opportunity for informational tables where local programs and services can share valuable resources directly with elderly community members. It’s a chance to connect, inform, and build stronger support networks for our respected elders.

The day focuses on embracing the renewal of spring while promoting practical ways to support healthy aging in the beautiful mountain setting of Mescalero. Attendees and participants can look forward to discussions and activities centered on:

• Outdoor Activities: Exploring the benefits of gardening, walking trails, and low-impact fitness classes to naturally boost vitamin D levels and overall mobility.

• Hydration: Practical tips for staying properly hydrated as warmer weather arrives.

• Skin Protection: Guidance on safeguarding skin from increased sun exposure during spring and summer months.

• Social Connection: Opportunities to build friendships and strengthen community bonds with fellow elders and service providers.

The event will also highlight the joys of incorporating fresh, seasonal produce and fun, engaging activities that encourage a vibrant, healthier lifestyle year-round.
